What are chakra colors and their meanings?

Chakras are not really colored in its physical sense. Rather they endow the kundalini energy with the vibrations of their assigned colors as it passes through them unhindered.

Interestingly the colors assigned to the chakras follow the pattern of the color spectrum known as an acronym VIBGYOR. VIBGYOR stands for violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red colors in that order. The same colors are visible in the same order in rainbows too.

The frequency of the violet color assigned to the crown chakra is the highest among them. At the other end of the spectrum lies the color red assigned to the root chakra with the lowest frequency.

The higher the frequency, the higher is the photon energy that kundalini energy possesses.
